“Mixtape Of The Week: Master P Al Capone”
If you grew up in the ’90s, loving Wu-Tang or Cypress Hill or the Beatnuts or the Fugees, you probably had a “wait, what?” moment with Master P. I remember mine vividly: One night in 1997, at the summer camp where I was working, after all the kids had gone down to sleep for the [...]

“Listen: Danny Brown Teams Up With DJ Muggs”
DJ Muggs: "Headfirst" [ft. Danny Brown] on SoundCloud.
Veteran DJ and producer DJ Muggs of Cypress Hill has joined forces with Danny Brown on a new track. He's taken Danny's vocals on a new verse and mixed them down into the aggressive, bass-heavy "Headfirst"-- stream it above. The track appears on the dubstep-geared DJ Muggs album Bass for Your Face, which is out on January 15 through Ultra Music.

“Watch the Decemberists on "The Simpsons"”
As previously reported, tonight's episode of "The Simpsons" will feature the Decemberists, who are hired as music teachers at Springfield Elementary. Watch a clip below, in which Colin Meloy asks the children if they want to "learn a song about press gangs and infanticide".
In the episode, a couple from Portland (Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein) move to Springfield with their pretentious son (Patton Oswalt), so naturally, Homer tries to cultivate a "younger, hipper image." Not to nitpick, but isn't "Homer tries to be cool" the same basic premise of the 1996 episode with Sonic Youth, Smashing Pumpkins, and Cypress Hill? Just sayin'.

Scion is hosting a free-with-RSVP "Open Mic" show at Public Assembly on Wednesday, 11/7 with DJ Getlive!, Action Bronson, and Harry Fraud. Unclear if one of those "friends" will be Curren$y who is a crucial piece of that EP and who plays Best Buy Theater with Mimosa two days later.

“Action Bronson Shares Theatrical New Video for "The Symbol", Announces Tour”
Rapping dirtbag extraordinaire Action Bronson's got a bunch of news for us today. First, there's his new mixtape, Rare Chandeliers, which will be available at some yet-unannounced date in November. He's also got a new video for mixtape track "The Symbol", produced by the Alchemist, too. Directed by Rik Cordero, it's what we've come to expect from Bronson-- he's the (sort of) heroic figure here, beating up a guy who appears to be a pimp who mistreated his prostitute. Wigs, Santa costumes, 1970s cars and Old West-style face-offs, good cops and bad cops, the works. And if you're trying to get a little face time with Bronson, you're in luck. He's announced a string of U.S. and UK tour dates, most of which are with Cypress Hill. Watch the new video after the tour itinerary, via Noisey.
