  • All Dogs - "Skin" (Singles Going Steady)

All Dogs' “Skin” sounds like it’s beamed from the mid-'90s golden age of alternative rock.

Harmless mid-90s ‘alt rock’ balladeering. Picture Claire Danes staring forlornly out a window, twisting the ends of her plaid shirt between her fingers. Will Jared Leto ever see her? I mean, ‘really’ see her -- for her? A tear rolls as “Skin” plays idly in the background. Except it’s 20 years later now and Claire is fighting terrorists and Jared is the Joker, so you might well ask if “Skin” is really what the world…

  • Camera Shy – “New Something” (Stereogum Premiere)

The music and the album art of Camera Shy have something in common: They’re both innocent in nature. The cover of the Oakland band’s debut LP features a girl no more than six years old in a plaid dress smiling next to a cake, presumably on her birthday. Track five off of the record, “New […]

  • Stream Hundred Waters The Moon Rang Like A Bell (Remixed)

Hundred Waters refined their delicate, electronic take on folk music on last year’s The Moon Rang Like a Bell, and to follow that up the Florida group are releasing a remix of the entire album featuring versions from artists like Plaid, Illangelo, Dirty Beaches, Kodak, Graph, and more. • Hundred Waters – “Out Alee (Plaid Remix)”

Hundred Waters are a curious case. Their music is so pretty and insular and new-agey that you almost want to think about it in folk-music terms, but they’ve also got the playful rhythmic sensibility of a ’90s IDM producer. So when actual ’90s IDM producers remix them, it just makes sense. The group is about [...]

  • Hundred Waters Get Plaid, Dirty Beaches, Shigeto for Remix Album

While Hundred Waters had previously issued remixed versions of tracks from their The Moon Rang Like a Bell full-length on the Down from the Rafters EP, the indie pop outfit have now revealed a full-length reimagining of the platter is on the way. • Does The ‘Teen Wolf’ Wardrobe Department Ship #Stalia?

Last night’s Teen Wolf started out on a very sweet note, with Stiles and Malia spooning bed. Normally, I’m not a fan of seeing my boyfriend in bed with another woman, but I actually like Malia so much that I’m totally down with their relationship. I was a little confused, though, considering last week’s episode... Read more »
